History

Established in 1986 the Guildford Seiki-Juku Karate Club is one of the largest and most successful Clubs in the south east.
As part of the United Kingdom Seiki-Juku Karate Organisation and affiliated to the Dai Nippon Butoku-kwai, Japan, it has a
strong foundation from which the Club has grown.
The Club was launched with a display in 1986 and 6 students were encouraged to join the 1st class. From this small start the
Club has grown to over 200 registered members and a large team of instructors.
The most senior instructor is Sensei Brian Shrubb, 3rd Dan who was one of those original 6 students all those years ago
and he is still as enthusiastic and dedicated about his karate as he was then.
Over the years nearly 40 of the Clubs students have achieved their black belt in one of the most demanding but satisfying
styles of karate. Achieving your Black Belt with the United Kingdom Seiki-Juku Katate Organisation is more than just
a coloured belt around your waist, it provides a sense of achievement second to none.
